A talk at the David C. Wood Mansion, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., with author Dr. Patricia Chappine as guest speaker.
March 26 to April 4, 2026. Revolutionary Lives: Living the American Experiment Then and Now
An exhibit at the Riverfront Renaissance Center for the Arts, open 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. across seven days, with a reception on Saturday, March 28.
April 11, 2026. Annual Meeting and Exhibit: Reflections of 19th Century Millville
At the David C. Wood Mansion, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
May 2, 2026. Mount Pleasant Cemetery Tour: Mausoleums, Mayors, and Memorials
A guided tour marking the cemetery's 160th year, 2:00 to 3:30 p.m., with refreshments afterward at the David C. Wood Mansion from 3:30 to 4:00.
May 15, 2026. Third Friday: Millville Women on the Home Front during the Second World War
At the Genealogical and Research Library, 200 East Main Street, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tours of the 1798 Baracha Dunn House ran alongside from 6:00 to 7:45.
June 6, 2026. Kids' Day: Butterflies, Bugs, Boas and Swashbucklers
Adventure, crafts, games and history for ages 3 to 10 at the David C. Wood Mansion, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
June 19, 2026. Third Friday: Millville's Black History
At the Genealogical and Research Library, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., with Dunn House tours alongside.
July 4, 2026. Bells Across America
The Cotton Mill Bell was rung thirteen times at noon, at the David C. Wood Mansion.
July 17, 2026. Third Friday: The Workingmen's Institute
A display on the Workingmen's Institute, built in Millville in 1882 and funded in part by R. Pearsall Smith of the Whitall Tatum Company, at the Genealogical and Research Library, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Dunn House tours were canceled that evening because of extreme heat.
August 21, 2026. Third Friday: Felting Workshop with Linda McHugh
At the Genealogical and Research Library, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., with Dunn House tours alongside.
September 3, 2026. James M. Wells Memorial Dedication
The dedication of a memorial headstone for Millville's first mayor, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
September 12, 2026. Old-Fashioned Ice Cream Social and the Whitaker Ice Wagon Reveal
At the David C. Wood Mansion, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. The restored 1886 Whitaker Ice Wagon was unveiled, with the ribbon cut by Franklyn Pangburn, 93, a Korean War veteran who rode the wagon as a child.
September 18, 2026. Third Friday: Clothing Factories Over the Years in Millville
At the Genealogical and Research Library, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., with Dunn House tours and a make-and-take lavender sachet.
2025
April 26, 2025. Do You Remember the Bicentennial in 1976?
At the David C. Wood Mansion. Doors opened at 1:00 p.m., the Annual Members Meeting and year in review followed at 1:30, and at 2:00 a presentation on the 1976 Bicentennial, with funding from a grant from the Cumberland County Cultural and Heritage Commission. More than forty Bicentennial commemoratives were displayed.
Cliff Clifton, Jr. spoke as an additional speaker about his father, Cliff Clifton, Sr., the moldmaker for the "Spirit of '76" Bicentennial Liberty Bell paperweight. He brought the original mold, the tools used to make it, and three of the paperweights.
May 8 to May 30, 2025. The Whitaker Ice Wagon Storage Shed
Built over six weeks on the grounds of the David C. Wood Mansion. Ground was broken on May 8, the concrete pad was poured on May 12 courtesy of DDK Concrete, and the shed was completed on May 30. It was formally opened with a ribbon-cutting at the Society's Flag Day Ice Cream Social on June 14.

May 16, 2025. Third Friday: Millville's Fallen Heroes of the Vietnam War: Never Forgotten
An exhibit at the Research Library honoring the young men of Millville who gave the last full measure of devotion.
June 14, 2025. Ice Cream Social Celebrating Flag Day
At the David C. Wood Mansion. Ice cream from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Cynthia Smith performing on dulcimer and whistle, and Jill Lawrence of the American Historical Theatre appearing as Betsy Ross for the Pledge of Allegiance. The afternoon included the ribbon-cutting for the new Whitaker Ice Wagon storage shed.
June 20, 2025. Third Friday: Amish Knot Rug Weaving Workshop
A hands-on workshop at the Research Library on making a rag rug. Sold out.
July 18, 2025. Third Friday: Baracha Dunn House Tours
Evening tours of Millville's oldest downtown building, beginning at 6:00 p.m. with the last tour at 7:45.
Opened July 18, 2025. Symbols of the Celebration: Representations of the Spirit of America in 1976
An ongoing exhibit at the Research Library running through the summer.
August 15, 2025. Third Friday: A 20th Century Photographic Walk Down Millville's High Street: Memories of Businesses Past
A photographic tour of High Street's commercial past at the Research Library, including footage drawn from page 132 of the 1955 Cumberland County Directory.
September 13, 2025. "Backyard" Yard Sale at the 1814 David C. Wood Mansion
A fundraiser held by the Trustees on the Mansion grounds at 821 Columbia Avenue. Everything offered came from the Trustees' own households rather than from the Society's collections, and the proceeds went to restoration.
September 19, 2025. Third Friday: The Flood of 1940: Bridges Over Troubled Waters
An account of Millville's 1940 flood, presented at the Research Library from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
2nd Annual High Street Arts Fest
Held from noon to 3:00 p.m. at the Riverfront Renaissance Center for the Arts in downtown Millville, with the Society taking part.
October 11, 2025. Kids' Day at the Mansion: History and Science
The Society's first Kids' Day at the Mansion, for children ages 4 to 8: a day of hands-on discovery, though the weather forced some of the outdoor activities to be canceled.
October 17, 2025. Third Friday: The Millville Hall of Mayors Memorial Exhibit
Biographies and photographs of Millville's mayors, on display at the Research Library, researched and curated by Tanner Duski.
November 21, 2025. Third Friday: Maps and Deeds: People, Places, and Purpose
Presented at the Research Library to mark GIS Day, drawing on John Parr Snyder's three-hundred-page study of the changing boundaries within Cumberland County. The display was held over through Sunday, November 23.
December 13, 2025. Annual Holiday Open House
The David C. Wood Mansion decorated for the season, with a vintage toy exhibit and the announcement of the exhibit's winners.
December 19, 2025. Third Friday: December
Holiday-themed programming at the Genealogical and Research Library, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

April 13, 2024. Annual Members Meeting and the Rebecca Mulford Bacon Exhibit
The Society's Annual Members Meeting, followed at 2:00 p.m. by a presentation remembering Rebecca Mulford Bacon. The accompanying exhibit remained on view through May and into the first week of June.
May 17, 2024. Third Friday: Tours of Two Historic Buildings and a Vintage Photo Exhibit
The Society took part in the Third Friday Art Crawl, opening two of its buildings and showing vintage photographs of Millville.
June 15, 2024. Annual Ice Cream Social: 1924 Grads, Music, and History
The Society's Annual Ice Cream Social, built around the high school class of 1924, music, and local history.
July 19, 2024. Third Friday: Art Crawl Giveaway
The Society was one of seven stops on the summer Art Crawl giveaway. Visitors picked up a map at any location, visited at least three, and had their map stamped.
September 20, 2024. Third Friday: September to Remember
A new photographic exhibit opened for Third Friday, shown alongside the Art Crawl giveaway.
September 21, 2024. Whitaker Ice: The First Full History Lecture of 2024
A lecture on R. B. Whitaker Ice at the David C. Wood Mansion, beginning at 1:00 p.m. The Society's first full history lecture of the year, and the beginning of the public story of the ice wagon.
October 5, 2024. 250th Anniversary of the Greenwich Tea Burning
The Society mounted an exhibit from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Millville's early history and its connection to the tea burning at Greenwich, New Jersey.
October 18, 2024. Third Friday: Butter Churning at the Baracha Dunn House
A butter-churning demonstration in Millville's oldest downtown building, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
October 26, 2024. Millville's High Street Arts Fest: First Annual
From 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the atrium of the Riverfront Renaissance Center for the Arts, with live music and a Yankee Doodle Dandy display from the Society.
November 15, 2024. Third Friday: A Historical Hodgepodge
An assortment from the collection, including Pepsi bottles from the 1940s.
December 7, 2024. Annual Holiday Party: Murals, Music, Morsels and Merriment
